Skiers named to big March races

Eder, Mooseau headed to Sugarloaf

Lauren Eder and Dixon Mooseau of the Sun Valley Ski Team lead a list of 30 local ski racers who have been chosen for prestigious competitions in March at different sites.

In all, 21 from the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation (SVSEF) and nine skiers from the Hailey Ski Team were chosen for three March contests.

Here they are. Congratulations to all the ski racers for their hard work this winter:

The top 20 men and 15 women from the West qualified for the J2 Junior Olympics March 7-14 at Sugarloaf, Me.:

From the SVSEF—Lauren Eder and Dixon Mooseau.

Selections for the Western Regional Junior Championships March 17-24 at Snow King in Jackson Hole, Wyo. are:

From the SVSEF—Lauren Parsons, Calley Brown, Katie Rothgeb, Shanny Cohen, Laura Speck, Hunter Storey, Cameron Minor, Kristian Timmons, Soren Ireland, Tristan Brown, Taylor Stoecklein and Corey Bellinger.

From the Hailey Ski Team—Ben Luck.

Selections for the Western FIS Series Finals, on a date and at a site to be announced:

From the SVSEF—Amanda Alexander, McKenna Peterson, Alexis duPont, Sara Berman, Cassidy Doucette, Grayson Palmer and Bryce Newcomb.

And from the Hailey Ski Team—Charlie Baser, Dewey Moss, John David Davidson, Tyler Chandler, Ford Hebard, Ryon Campbell, John D. Anderson and Matthew Preucil.

Local selections to the J3 Olympics in Oregon will be announced after the David Wright Memorial/IMD J3 giant slalom and slalom qualifying races March 5-6 at Park City, Utah. And J4 Festival picks will be revealed after races March 12-13 at Snowbird, Utah.
