True to form, the gritty, ten-member SV5B swim team snagged 19 top-three individual places amongst a field of a whopping 350 athletes at Snake River Swimming's annual winter championships in Nampa.
Fighting a cold, Amanda Harris, 17, still managed to claim seven golds. She settled for second place in only one other event. Her first in the 100 free was a blistering personal best of 53.72 seconds.
Ray Bryson, 16, swam for gold in the 50 back, and qualified for Western Zone Competition in August, in his 200 back and 200 breast.
Ben Parker, 17, grabbed gold in 50 fly and silver in 50 back. Racheal McGinnis, 14, snagged three firsts, and qualified for NW Age Group Sectionals in her 200 back.
Natalie Hague, 15, took second in 50 fly and third in 100 free, while Sarah Adicoff, 15, swam for third in 50 breast.
Other best-place finishes were Sarah Brown, 12, sixth in 50 fly; Esther Williams, 13, fourth in 50 back; Ashleigh Share, 13, ninth in 50 breast; and Taylor Straley, 15, fifth in the 50 fly and 200 IM.
In relay competition, McGinnis, Hague, Straley and Harris combined for a second in 200 free. Williams, McGinnis, Share and Brown, combined for fourth in 200 medley.
