Salmon hockey tilt spawns tons of fun for skaters

Girls just wanna have fun and that was plainly evident at an IHL hockey tournament in Salmon, Feb. 12-13.

The Sun Valley girls' U-18 team and a Sun Valley women's squad helped round out the field of five, which included Salmon, Montana and Idaho Falls.

The Sun Valley women went 1-2-1 and the girls compiled a 0-4 record, but took home trophies and medals as the third-place IHL team.

In the game, which pitted the two Sun Valley teams against each other, the coaches/mothers won 3-1. Goal scorers were Nicole Perkins with two and Kathleen Histon with one. Hannah Carr tallied the girls' lone goal.

The women tied Idaho Falls 2-2 with Georgia Hutchinson and Jini Griffith scoring. The Sun Valley women were shutout by Salmon and Montana by identical 4-0 scores.
