The Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau has announced that Ketchum real-estate broker Dick Fenton will be awarded its 2005 "Citizen of the Year" award.

The announcement came as the Chamber named seven Wood River Valley residents and two regional organizations that will be honored as part of the 2005 Community Awards, an annual event that recognizes outstanding efforts for supporting community causes.

The awards will be presented Friday, March 18, during the 8th Annual Community Awards Dinner. The banquet and awards ceremony—which will feature a comedy performance by entertainer Chris Millspaugh—will commence at 6:30 p.m. in the River Run Lodge.

Fenton, a partner in Ketchum-based McCann-Daech-Fenton Realtors, will be recognized for his 15-year commitment to volunteering to support community projects.

Other award winners announced this week include:

· Business of the Year: Wood River Insurance, for the volunteer work of its employees.

· Youth Citizen of the Year: Sydney Leopold, for serving academic organizations, including Wood River High School.

· Youth Advocate of the Year: Angenie McCleary, for assisting youth programs in Blaine County School District.

· Environmental Advocate of the Year: Kingsley Murphy, for supporting the Environmental Resource Center and other nonprofit organizations.

· Arts Advocate of the Year: R.L. Rowsey, for guiding music, dance and theater programs in the Wood River Valley.

· Chamber Volunteer of the Year: Drew Chittenden, for his work with the annual Mountain Wellness Festival.

· Ambassador of the Year: Hailee McLean, for her dedication to the Chamber Ambassadors' program.

To honor the award recipients, the Idaho Mountain Express in the coming weeks will publish a feature story on each winner. The stories will be published from Feb. 9 through March 4, leading up to the Community Awards Dinner.
