Sarchett, Lloyd top Town Series field

Robin Sarchett and Piper Lloyd were the fastest male and female in the second week of the Town Alpine Series.

Held on Bald Mountain Wednesday, Sarchett (23.12) topped last week's winner, Carlo Rixon (23.41) by .29. Wes Powell was third in 23.81. Jeff Sarchett and Biche Rudigoz were fourth and fifth.

The margin of victory was even narrower in the women's race. Lloyd clocked in at 27.15, to nip Erica Whittaker (27.28). Sonja Mandeville skied to third place in 27.50. Annie Stout and Dotty Sarchett rounded out the top five.

The seven-week series runs through March. Next week's party is at the Roosevelt Tavern in Ketchum.
