Wood River cuts its losses against Bonneville

Girls' hoops


Bonneville posted a 20-point victory over Wood River in Hailey Wednesday night. In 4A class action, the Bees defeated the Wolverines 50-30.

The margin of victory, however, was less than half of their previous meeting on Nov. 19 when Bonneville waxed Wood River by 48 points.

The Bees outscored their host 11-5 in the first frame, but the Wolverines answered with a 14-point second quarter to trail by five, 24-18, at halftime. Bonneville cruised in the second half; posting 26 points to the Wolverines 11.

Syringa Stark paced the Wolverines with 14 points, matching the 14 scored by Bonneville's Amy Passey.

Next best for Wood River was Laura Johnson with 7 points. Alexa Alberdi Jamie Stone, and Kristin Miniard tallied 3 points apiece.

Wood River (2-8, 1-1 league) travels to Burley (4-4, 1-1) tonight, Friday, Dec. 17 for another league clash. On Saturday, Wood River finishes its pre-Christmas schedule by hosting Gooding (8-2) on the Hailey hardwoods.
