Rachael McGinnis, 13, led her five SV5B teammates with three second place and two third-places finishes at last weekend's annual Thanksgiving Invitational held at the Boise YMCA.
The small contingent of SV5B swimmers was due to the upcoming holiday week, but the six girls competed well against 430 athletes from all over the Northwest.
McGinnis took silver in the 50, 100 and 200 free, and bronze in the 500 free and 200 IM. She also placed fifth in 100 and 200 back. Her time of 26:50 in 50 free was one hundredth off the qualifying time for regional competition, and she blazed a personal best at 57.68 in the 100 free.
Sarah Brown, 11, swam her best place finish in 100 fly, coming in seventh with a time of 43.84 seconds.
Melissa Becker, 13, swam for ninth in 200 free with a 2:27.14. Esther Williams, 12, placed best at 11th in 100 free in 1:10.44. Rachael Becker, 15, swam for 10th in 200 back, at 2:55.32. Ashleigh Share, 13, placed best at 12th in 200 free at 2:31.75.
