Sign up now and play later

Register for hockey

By the looks of recent wet weather it could be a long, snowy winter in the Wood River Valley. And that is a great thing. But if you need a respite from your outdoor activities, you can always head indoors and play some puck. Now is the time to register for three adult hockey leagues in Sun Valley.

Adult B and B+ hockey

Halloween is the witching hour for hockey players signing up for this winter?s ?B? and ?B+? hockey leagues. Reg-istration and league fees are due before Oct. 31?no players will be accepted after that date.

Remember, consideration will be given to skaters who played in the leagues last year. And, this year, players are not allowed to skate in both the ?B? and ?B+? leagues, according to organizer Terry Crawford.

Here are details of each league. Call Crawford at 726-7576 for more information:

?B? league: A fun coed league complete with goalies and referee, but there are no win/loss records kept, and no season-ending tournament. Once a player is placed on a team the $215 registration fee becomes non-refundable.

?B+? league: Competitive coed league with wins and losses recorded, and a championship tournament at the end of the season. Registration fee is $225, non-refundable after teams are picked.

Senior ?A? League Hockey

Planning is in full swing for the 2004-05 Senior ?A? League Hockey season. League organizer Chris Zarkos said he is looking for players to fill four teams in the competitive no-check men?s hockey loop.

The 14-week season starts Monday, Nov. 29 with a single game at 8:40 p.m. at Sun Valley Skating Center. Games will be played Mondays and Thursdays at 8:40 p.m. this winter.

Call Chris Zarkos at 720-1866 for details about signing up.
