Kyle Lubeck will attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law.

Hailey resident Kyle Lubeck is on his way to learning about the law.

Lubeck, 16, was selected to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law in Washington, D.C. The October conference provides students an in-depth look into the legal profession.

?This is where the future for many students begins to take shape,? said Donna Snyder, executive director of the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law.

Lubeck will have a first-hand opportunity to interact with attorneys, professors and other legal experts during the conference.

?When I was younger one of my teachers said I would make a great lawyer,? Lubeck said.

The Wood River High School junior already possesses the makings of a great lawyer.

?I?ve always liked to argue,? Lubeck said with a laugh. He quickly added that he is also interested in law because it is a way of helping others.

Lubeck joins 350 high school juniors and seniors selected from across the United States to participate in the introduction to law. The students meet legal professionals, take part in the legal process and engage in debate over national issues. The session ends with the students? modeling a Supreme Court hearing based on an actual case. The combination of experiences offers a look into the judicial process to help students make informed career decisions.

Lubeck said he is looking forward to ?learning more about the process of law and how it works in our country.?

During past sessions students also visited nearby law firms, law schools and area courthouses, including the District of Columbia Superior Court.

In addition to the law forum, the program also offers additional conferences to bring other professions to life.
