A world of double trouble

Twins abound in Wood River Valley

On a gorgeous fall Sunday, a gathering of young lookalikes gathered at Hop Porter Park in Hailey with their parents to compare notes and play. Some of those in attendance posed (mostly) happily in front of the playground.

The Wood River Valley has suddenly become a place populated by an abundance of twins. Approximately six pairs of twins were born in 2003, and another few are expected this year. A new set, Arrien and Zane Deckard were born Sept. 10.

Julie Bell brought the oldest pair at 7 years old. The Bell twins were both over 7 pounds each upon delivery. The other mothers gasped upon hearing this remarkable statistic. Bell also has two other children.

Margo Ros? identical twins are now the same size but at birth were far apart in size.

?Brogan was a big one. He was hoarding all the groceries,? she laughed. ?Twins shouldn?t be allowed to have so much fun. It?s a constant play date.?

The expanding group of parents of twins has formed a kind of support group and is planning more gatherings. They hope other parents and twins will come, regardless of age.
