Panthers pounce on winning record

Prep volleyball

Under first-year head coach Kathy Whitworth the Carey volleyball team is out of the gate with a 3-0 start.

Whitworth attributes part of the success to a training camp the team attended before the season started.

?We played about 25 games in a week and held practices at night. We had a lot of playing time and I can really see a difference,? she said.

In tri-meet action at the Panther Pen Tuesday, Carey dispatched both Mackay and Hansen.

Carey defeated the Miners 21-25, 25-13, 15-3 and downed the Huskies 21-25, 25-7, 15-3.

?We hit well and defended well,? Whitworth commented.

Carey traveled to Camas County Thursday and will entertain Bliss and ISDB (jayvee) on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
