RESULTS

Sawtooth Club/Roosevelt 18, Cellar Pub 13
These two teams heated up the middle innings like Icy Hot on a sunburn. (Don’t try this at home). The bar clubs belted 26 hits and scored 23 runs in the middle three frames, but Sawtooth managed to outdistance the Cellar with a four-run first. Sawtooth Club (17 hits): Warren Christiansen 3 hits (HR/2B), 3 runs. Eric Ayers 2 hits (3B/2B), 2 runs. Ashley M. 2 hits, 3 runs. Chris 2 doubles, 1 run. Shane Z. 2 hits, 1 run. Cellar (15 hits): Damon Ferarri 2 hits (HR), 3 runs. Megan 2 hits, 2 runs. Jen F. 2 hits, 2 runs. Caleb B. 2 hits (2B), 3 runs. Amy H. 2 hits, 2 runs.

Whitehead Landscaping 16, East Ave. Bistro 15
You can’t say it featured surgical precision, but it was nip and tuck the whole game. Anthony Rooney’s (3 hits) 2-run homer put the ‘Scrapers up 9-7 in the third. The scrappy East squad pulled within a run in the sixth when Butler Ball doubled and scored and had the game-tying run on second. WL pitcher Mike Watson enticed a comebacker for a 1-3 play for the third out and the team’s fourth W of the season. Whitehead (19 hits): Jules Gardner 3 hits (2B), 2 runs. Mike Watson 3 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Anthony Rooney 3 hits (HR/2B), 2 runs. Amanda Black 2 hits, 1 run. East Ave. (10 hits): Butler Bell 3 hits (2B), 2 runs. Dave Swenke 2 hits (3B/2B), 2 runs. Larry Miller 2 triples, 1 run. Kami Miller double, 2 runs.

View Point 22, Firefighters 9
You know when you watch those nature shows on TV and they show a lame, sick, wounded water buffalo and a pack of lions and you know that poor buffalo doesn’t stand a poor man’s chance at the Playboy mansion? Well, you kind of got the same feeling when the Firefighters took the field against View Point with only nine players. The Pointers smacked 31 hits and had salted away enough runs to beat KFD by the end of the second frame. Thankfully, there was a watering hole at the end of this picnic. View Point (31 hits): Rod Watson 4 hits (HR/3B/2 doubles), 3 runs. Jeff Sarchett 4-for-4 (triple/2 doubles), 3 runs. Gina S. 4 hits (2 doubles), 2 runs. Matt Barrow 3 hits (2 HR), 4 runs. Firefighters (13 hits): Keith Potter 2 hits (HR/2B), 2 runs. Matt Christian 2 hits (3B), 3 runs. Karly M. 2 singles, 2 runs. Aja Dailey 2 hits.

Lefty’s 17, Pioneer/SV Associates 5
Lefty’s came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 13 runs off 13 hits in the first three frames. By the time the Pioneer hit the scoreboard in the fourth it was over like an easy egg. Lefty’s (21 hits): Bryan Speth 4 doubles, 4 runs. Diane Johns 3 hits, 2 runs. Buff Rixon 3 hits (3B/2B), 2 runs. Dave Hausmann 2 homeruns. Nicole Buchwalter 1 hit, 2 runs. Pioneer (13 hits): Cody Doucette, Lee Ritzau, John Fenchella & Kelsey Grimes 2 hits, 1 run each.

Color Haus 10, Casino 6
Color Haus might not always play well, but they do know how to win. Despite four players going hitless, the Haus pulled off the W. Credit some great defense in which the paint crew held Casino’s 6-12 batters to just seven hits. CH also scored at least one run in every inning. Their big frame was a three-run second. Brenda Blackwell (2 runs), John Rathfon, and Chris Benson (2 RBI) all singled and scored. Color Haus (16 hits): Lars Hovey 3 hits (2 doubles), 3 runs. Jeff Burrell 3 hits (2 doubles). Twyla Bulcher 3 hits. Casino (15 hits): Matt S. 3 hits (2B). Anthony Anderson 2 hits (double), 2 runs. Brenda Griffin 2 hits, 1 run.
