TU seeks to reactivate Hemingway
Chapter
Meeting scheduled Monday in Ketchum
Trout Unlimited members in the Wood River
Valley are invited to meet Monday, July 26, to discuss reactivation of the
Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the
Ketchum-Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce conference room, located at the corner of
Main and 4th streets in Ketchum.
"The purpose of the Trout Unlimited
meeting in Ketchum is to gather members together to learn about current
activities of Trout Unlimited in Idaho and to take stock of the level of
interest in reactivating the Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited," said Troy
Tvrdy, president of the Idaho Trout Unlimited Council.
There are nearly 2,000 TU members in
Idaho, with eight active chapters. In addition there are now five professional
TU employees in Idaho working on projects to restore native fish and to protect
fish habitat on public lands. "We will have a short presentation on these
programs at the meeting," Tvrdy said.
"But the main purpose of the meeting is to
create the opportunity for Trout Unlimited members who live in the Wood River
Valley to come together," Tvrdy said. "You can count on a fishing story or two
to be shared. We hope that you can join us, and by all means bring a friend or
two along.
Several TU members from around Idaho--who
will be in the Wood River valley during the week attending the annual meeting of
the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, hosted this year by the
Idaho Department of Fish and Game--also will attend the Hemingway Chapter
meeting to answer questions and offer tips on possible chapter activities.
