Saddle up for final royalty results
2004 Miss Days of the Old West
The Sawtooth Rangers Riding Club has
announced the winners of the 2004 Miss Days of the Old West royalty contest
during Sunday’s Hailey rodeo.
This year’s contest coordinator was Janell
Ramm.
Judges were Tara Rushton, Cindy Gochnour,
Dalonna Stinemates and Scharlee Roberts.
Senior Queen: Melinda Markin, 18,
of Hailey, a 2004 Wood River High School graduate who plans to attend Albertson
College in Caldwell this fall. Melinda won Poise & Personality, Horsemanship,
Photogenics and Speech.
Teen Queen: Kylie Freestone, 13, is
the daughter of John and Leslie England of Pocatello. Kylie won Poise &
Personality, Horsemanship and Photogenics, and tied with Kandace Boggs for
Speech.
First attendant: Kandace Boggs of
Fairfield. Second through sixth attendants: Megan Larkin, Kelsie Mahoney,
Madalyn Miller, Krystal Tracy and Felicity McGraw.
Junior Queen: Alexis Bennett, an
incoming eighth grader at Middleton Middle School, is the daughter of Michelle
Bennett of Middleton and Jeff Bennett of Meridian.
Alexis won Poise & Personality,
Horsemanship and Speech, and tied with Jessica Watts for Photogenics.
First attendant was Jessica Watts. Second
attendant was Shaylee England and third was Michala Davidson.
In addition, Alexis was the overall
high-point winner, receiving a Tex Tan saddle from the Sawtooth Rangers and
matching breast collar from Wood River Equine Hospital.
