RESULTS

Wicked Spud/Bradley 6, Anderson Asphalt 5
In a tight battle of first-place teams, Jeff Burrell (3 hits, 3 runs) smashed a 2-run walk-off HR that rallied Wicked Spud over the pavers 6-5. Anderson got on the board first when Phil Uhrig (2 hits, 2 runs) doubled and scored in the second. Jim Bradley cracked a 2-run HR giving Spud a 2-1 lead after four frames, then Bradley tripled and scored on Becky Simpson’s single for a 3-1 Wicked Spud lead after six innings. Held scoreless for four consecutive innings, Anderson Asphalt came alive with their backs to the wall in the seventh. Hoss Schmidt (3 hits) doubled with one out. Then, with two gone, Phil Uhrig reached on an error, Wendy Hosman s singled, Kevin Garceau doubled and Lynn Drewien singled to complete a 4-run outburst—giving Anderson Asphalt a 5-3 lead. In the home seventh, Spud manufactured its own two-out rally. A single by Jimberly Thomas and two-out outfield error set the stage for Jeff Burrell’s game-winning blast. Wicked Spud: Buddy Isom and Mike Watson 2 hits apiece.

Silver Dollar/ABC 9, Budweiser/Oak St. 3
A good night for Silver Dollar started off with a 5-run first. Singles by Teresa Collins (2 hits), Jim Carlson (2 hits) and Tina Murphy (2 hits) set the table for Josh Jacobson’s bases-clearing HR. The winners added 2 insurance runs in the fifth as Phil Castle drilled an RBI double. Silver Dollar: Jacobson 2 hits and 2 runs, T.J. Garceau 2 hits. Budweiser: Greg Edwards 2 hits (double) and 2 runs.

Hailey Hotel 10, Wise Guy Pizza/Mint 2
Hotel jumped out to a 7-1 lead and breezed to victory.

Robin Tomasi/MB/Big Horn 10, Red Elephant 9
Tomasi/Big Horn held on to a share of first place, but it wasn’t easy against a Red Elephant squad determined to post its first victory of the summer. Red Elephant built 3-0 and 5-2 leads, but Tomasi/Big Horn got its bats in gear and outscored Red Elephant 8-4 in the final three frames. Solo HRs by Brad Dredge (5 hits, 2 runs) and Matt Douthit pulled Tomasi/Big Horn within one run, at 5-4, after five complete. In the sixth, Tomasi/Big Horn ripped 6 consecutive singles and ended up scoring 4 runs for an 8-5 lead. Red Elephant tied it 8-8 with 5 hits of its own in the sixth, but Tomasi/Big Horn tacked on the decisive 2 runs in the seventh on singles by Samantha Sisiam (2 hits, 2 runs), Samatha Dredge (3 hits, 2 runs) and a sacrifice fly by Mike Beall. Red Elephant threatened once more when Justin Herald (3 doubles) doubled in the home seventh but the rally fell short. Tomasi/Big Horn: Ty Byington 3 hits. Red Elephant: Aaron Molyneux 3 hits, Max Bailey 3 hits and 2 runs, Joe Molyneux 3 hits, Travis Davis 2 hits (double), Josh Green 2 hits and 2 runs.
