It was anyone’s game until the fourth frame, when much like the female patrons of the Casino, the bags were loaded. The Casino busted loose for five runs in the fourth and tacked on seven more in the final two innings. The Cellar had a tough time at the plate with only five hits. All knotted at 7-7 in the fourth, Sawtooth pieced together 2-run and 5-run frames for the win. Sawtooth (20 hits): Pat McGee 3 hits (HR/2 triples), 3 runs. Eric Ayers 3 hits (HR/3B), 3 runs. The Haus rattled the bats from the outset, scoring all 15 runs off 14 hits in the first four innings. Haus: Bryan Burrell 4 hits (triple), 3 runs. Dan Gearhart 3 hits (double), 2 runs. View Point 13, Lefty’s 10
Lefty’s gave the Point a run for its money, scoring more than twice as many runs as Viewpoint’s two previous opponents. Lefty’s held a 10-6 lead through five, when the Point broke loose for six runs to take the lead for good. In the winning inning, Georgia Hutchinson (3 hits/2 runs) socked a two-run single and Rod Watson (triple) belted a 2-run homer. View Point (17 hits): Jeff Sarchett 4-for-4 (double), 3 runs. Sue Mulcahy 2 hits (triple), 2 runs. Nelson Drewien HR. Lefty’s (16 hits): Buffalo Rixon 2 hits (HR/double), 2 runs. Wendy Speth 2 hits (HR/double/4 RBI), 2 runs. Dave Hausmann 2 doubles, 2 runs. Firefighters 18, Whitehead Landscaping 14
Trailing 9-8 in the second, the Firefighters torched Whitehead for eight runs in the third. Bart Thompson lit the match with a leadoff homerun. Matt Zachary also went yard in the frame, which featured seven hits and two errors. Firefighters (18 hits): Matt Zachary 4 hits (2 doubles). Keith Potter 3 hits (HR/2B), 3 runs.
