Baldy chairlift rides to start next weekend

By GREGORY FOLEY
Express Staff Writer

Sun Valley Resort will commence summer-season chairlift services on Bald Mountain on Saturday, June 26.

The resort plans to operate two chairlifts on Bald Mountain daily through Sept. 6. Both the River Run Express and the Lookout Express lifts will open at 9 a.m. each day to take passengers to the Lookout Summit of Bald Mountain.

The two lifts will run continuously throughout the day until approximately 3:45 p.m. The last round-trip ride from the bottom of River Run will depart at 3:15 p.m. The last one-way ride to the summit will depart at 3:30 p.m.

The last ride down the mountain will depart at 3:45 p.m.

Lift services for mountain bikers will commence on July 1, company officials announced.

The Bald Mountain Trail system provides nearly 28 miles of varied hiking and mountain-biking terrain. The eight-mile Warm Springs Trail provides hikers and bikers with a picturesque descent over the back side of Bald Mountain to the Warm Springs base area.

For more information, call the River Run Ticket Office at 622-6136.
