Festival de Futbol Sabado en Ketchum
The first-ever soccer festival for the
Latino community and other interested people is scheduled for Saturday, June 5
from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Ketchum’s Atkinson Park.
Eight men’s teams are expected to compete,
coming from places like Carey, Bellevue, Shoshone, Jerome and Twin Falls,
according to tournament director Tito Rivera.
Rivera said, "We’ll have games all
afternoon on two fields. There will be trophies for first, second and third
places, medals, t-shirts and caps. There will be volleyball for the ladies,
too."
It is a family occasion, free of charge,
and children’s activities will be available. A meal will be provided.
Recorded music will be played starting at
noon and will continue throughout the afternoon. The popular Iris Rowry and
Billie Zoeber will spin their tunes from 4-6 p.m.
