Legion will honor vets on Monday
The David Ketchum Post 115 of the American
Legion will hold Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Ketchum Cemetery on Monday May
31, at 11 a.m.
The plot of each Veteran in the Ketchum
Cemetery will have a white cross and an American Flag placed on it by members of
the American Legion.
The ceremonies will also honor the
dedication of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., on this Memorial
Day Weekend. The memorial is "A Tribute to a Generation" of men and women who
served to protect our freedom during WWII.
Members of the American Legion will
conduct ceremonies to Honor the Dead of our Service Personnel. The American
Legion Honor Guard will march into the cemetery with our Nation’s Flag. A speech
and a prayer will be presented followed by a rifle salute to our fallen
comrades. The ceremonies will conclude with the playing of "Taps".
The public is encouraged to attend and
seating will be provided. All of those in attendance are invited to return to
the David Ketchum Post of the American Legion for a light luncheon and
refreshments and a gathering of friends.
