At year-end banquet
The Hailey Ski Team wrapped up a
great 2003-04 season with its year-end banquet last week. The coaches
highlighted the accomplishments of the skiers and handed out many
awards.
HST director Matt Brown said, "In
our J4-J6 group, skiers placed consistently on the podium at home, Bogus
Basin, Kelly Canyon and at Grand Targhee. Our J3s, J2s and J1s
especially gained ground in their downhill training at Soldier Mountain.
"A majority of the older skiers
qualified for regional competitions—and Wood River High School senior
Laura Durkheimer was the overall Intermountain Cup winner."
Going to the J3 Junior Olympics in
Sun Valley March 18-21 were Casey Bennett, Barrett Cincotta, Ryan
Campbell, Meghan Luck, Alisa Durkheimer and Jasmine Campbell (J4).
Laura Durkheimer, Luke Chaney and
Tyler Chandler competed in the J2 Junior Olympics at Mt. Bachelor March
24-30, while Dewey Moss,
Ben Luck, John David Davidson, John Anderson, Derek Blash, Matt Preucil
and Danielle Maniere went to the Western Tech Series at Red Lodge.

Most Improved—Tyler Chandler,
Jasmine Campbell, Conner Bennett, Amanda Stelling, Tanner Schmiedl,
Rocket Stickney and Reta Flynt.
Coaches’ Awards—Melissa Becker,
Teller McClure, Austin Nalen, Quinn Matthews and Davis Matthews.
