Wood River golf
For the second straight outing
Wood River’s Scott Sanders was the medalist at a prep golf meet.
Sanders bagged his second
individual honor this season by firing an 18-hole 73 at Pleasant Valley
Country Club near Kimberly Tuesday. The course is a par 67.
"He is golfing really well. Just
doing great," coach John Braafladt remarked.
Sophomore Cooper McCroskey carded
his low score of the season, a 79, to place fifth. In his first outing
this season, Tate Mills scored 81 to tie teammate Alex Bliss for seventh
place. Tristan Beckman carded an 89.
"Four kids in the top ten really
helped our scoring," Braafladt noted.
Wood River won the meet with a
combined 314 to edge runner-up Filer by one stroke. Hagerman (329) was
third and Valley (415) fourth.
For the first time this season,
Wood River fielded a full girls team and placed second, two strokes
behind Valley, 415 to 417. Filer was third.
The Wolverines claimed third
through fifth place. Lisa Feldhusen led the charge with a 92. Rachel
Pace carded a 102 and Adrianna Maniere came in at 106. Haley Stommel
shot 117.
"They were awesome results. The
kids played great," Braafladt remarked.
Hailey will get an up close look a
district opponents at a meet at Burley Municipal this Tuesday, April 20.
"Declo, Filer, Gooding and Buhl
will be there. It will be our first real test," Braafladt said.
