Sun Valley Freestyle Team
wraps up the season
The food is hot at the Thai House in Hailey and fittingly so, as a bunch of sizzling skiers on the Sun Valley Freestyle Team took over the restaurant for their annual awards banquet Tuesday.
14th year head coach John Zuck lauded the squad for a great season where eight racers qualified for the Junior Olympics and three, Sophia Schwartz, Katie Fieguth and Britt VanPaepeghem, made it to Nationals.
Sophia Schwartz and Karl Fostvedt, both of whom recently competed in the Sports Illustrated for Kids nextSnow Search, were voted Most Inspirational by their teammates.
Schwartz also garnered the Coach’s Award.
Katie Fieguth was named Most Outstanding Skier. Most Improved went to Austin Bourret.
On the part-time team, Nathan Moses was named Most Improved. McKenna Collins earned Most Outstanding Skier and the Coach’s Award went to Zana Davey.
