North Series makes final stop
on Arrowhead
Grand Targhee tech races
Two days of technical racing
produced eight age class victories for Sun Valley and Hailey alpine
skiers during the Intermountain Division’s North Series Championships
March 27-28 on Grand Targhee’s Arrowhead run.
Sun Valley’s J4 Tanner Flanigan
came up with one of two overall wins last weekend for the Wood River
Valley racers. He captured Saturday’s men’s giant slalom with a terrific
first run, out-racing Hailey’s Ryan Foster by .55 seconds to lead 40
finishers.
J3 winner Grayson Palmer of Sun
Valley earned the other overall triumph with a 1.04-second win in
Sunday’s women’s slalom. Meghan Luck of Hailey took second overall in
Saturday’s GS, the top J3.
Casey Bennett of Hailey added a J3
class victory, sixth overall, in Sunday’s SL. Soren Ireland captured the
J3 class in Saturday’s GS, fourth overall.
Clocking the second-fastest second
run, Hailey’s J5 winner Miles Sweek rose all the way to third place
overall in Sunday’s SL. Hailey’s Amanda Stelling posted a pair of J5
women’s wins in GS and SL, ninth and 11th overall.
