Local racers
named to JO team
Almost a dozen local ski team racers will have "homefield advantage" for the Western Region J3 Junior Olympics here on Bald Mountain, March 18-21.
The Sun Valley and Hailey ski teams send 11 racers as part of the 45-person Intermountain Division team. A total of 27 boys and 18 girls help make up the squad, which consists of athletes aged 13 and 14.
Sun Valley team members to qualify after a series of selection races, the latest at Bogus Basin last weekend, were Tristan Brown, Soren Ireland, Travis Stone, Calley Brown, Shanny Cohen and Ainsley Gourlay. Alternates are Natalie Hague and Katie Rothgeb.
Racers representing the Hailey Ski Team are Ryan Campbell, Barrett Cincotta, Casey Bennett, Meghan Luck and Alisa Durkheimer.
