A sweetheart deal:
Buy a Suns player

Valentine’s Day auction

It’s being promoted as, "Warm up this winter with a hot Sun."

They’ll be raising money for the Sun Valley Suns organization this weekend during the first annual Sun Valley Suns Bachelor Auction—just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Many of the younger Suns players will be auctioned off. They are Josh Jacobson, Ryan Enrico, Rohan Verplank, Matt Gershater, Chris King, Chris Warrington, Ryan Thomson, Eric Demment and J.J. Hanley.

Auction winners receive a restaurant certificate and, from their Suns player, two hours of manual labor, two hours of private hockey lessons or two hours of undivided attention.

The silent auction begins Thursday, Feb. 12 from 4-7 p.m. at the pre-weekend party with the Suns at The Cellar in Ketchum. Prospective buyers can meet the players face-to-face and place their bids at that time. Minimum bids are $50.

Phone bids can be made with Kathy at 309-0342 until Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.

In addition, the auction will continue through the Friday and Saturday night Suns hockey games against the Minnesota All-Stars at Sun Valley Skating Center. The auction ends at the end of the second period Saturday.

Auction winners will be announced at the second intermission of Saturday’s game. Then, arrangements will be made with the players to carry out their duties next week.
