Brown, 19, captured Saturday’s GS by 1.47 seconds over former Sun Valley teammate Carl Rixon Jr., 21, and then added Sunday’s SL victory by 1.88 seconds over Chris Colpitts, 17, from Squaw Valley, Ca.

Monday’s Flood make-up men’s GS on Hemingway/Greyhawk saw Brown and Rixon place 2-3 behind race winner Erik Fisher of Rowmark.

Sun Valley’s Dixon Mooseau came up with a J2 (ages 15-16) class win in Sunday’s SL, placing seventh overall. Another Sun Valley J2 class winner was Lauren Eder, second overall in Sunday’s women’s GS.

And on Monday, J2 winner Eder won the women’s giant slalom in a field of 33 finishers by a full second over Sarah Lyman of Park City. She and Brown were Sun Valley’s only overall winners in the first three races.

Meanwhile, Lauren Parsons of Sun Valley podiumed in second place among J2 women in both the weekend GS and SL—finishing third overall in Sunday’s GS. Dewey Moss of the Hailey Ski Team finished third in J2 during Monday’s men’s GS.

Cameron Minor of Sun Valley podiumed with a third place in J1 (17-18) men in Saturday’s GS.

J1 women Amy Alexander (GS) and Laura Durkheimer (SL) each took second place in their classes, and Charlotte Gourlay (GS) was third.

Skiers from Idaho, Wyoming and Utah, 73 men and 51 women, competed in last weekend’s Intermountain Division J1-J2 qualifiers for the 15-18 age classes. In the 124-skier field there were 39 local racers.

The race sponsored by the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation is named for Flood, an excellent Ketchum junior ski racer who died in 1990 at the age of 19.
