Following a Thursday, Jan. 22, report,
Bellevue police are investigating the alleged molestation of a child by his
stepmother.
Bellevue Marshall Randy Tremble said the
Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported that a 15-year-old boy had been
molested multiple times by his 29-year-old stepmother between October and Jan.
20. Tremble said he is considering seven charges of lewd and lascivious conduct
on a minor.
Tremble said the boy’s father lived in the
same household but apparently did not know about his wife’s behavior.
Tremble said he has spoken with the victim
and his family but has not been able to locate the boy’s stepmother.
"The suspect has fled the area, and we are
unable to contact her at this time," he said.
Tremble said a third party brought the
issue to the attention of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, which, in
turn, notified the police department.
