PeeWees take
sticks to Idaho Falls
Junior hockey action
Sun Valley Junior Hockey (6-2 IHL)
traveled to Idaho Falls last weekend, coming away with three wins and one loss.
In the first game, the PeeWees
faced Boise and came away with a 10-1 victory. Leading the scoring were Austin
Grill (5 goals, hat trick), Danny Sundali (2 goals) and one apiece from Hank
Mason, Morgan Pike and David Dredge.
Assists were recorded by Mason, Sundali,
Pike (2), Rune Haavik and Latner Straley. Goalie Tye Lampl was between the pipes
(5 saves) and Sun Valley had 47 shots on Boise’s goal.
Sun Valley whipped Jackson Hole 7-2 in the
second game. Scoring was led by Morgan Pike (hat trick), Austin Grill (2), Hank
Mason and Rune Haavik. Assists came from Pike, Mason, Haavik, Sundali and Peter
Atkinson. Goalie Cody Levitan had 10 saves.
In the third game, Sun Valley prevailed
over Boise 8-0.
Leading the scoring were Hank Mason (2),
Danny Sundali (2), Jackson Bates (2) plus singles by Grill and Peter Atkinson.
Assists came from Mason (2), Sundali, Tye Lampl and Niels McMahon. Sun Valley
had 32 shots on Boise's goal.
In the last game, Sun Valley
dropped a hard-fought battle against Idaho Falls 6-4.
Rallying from a 4-1 deficit to a 4-4 tie,
Sun Valley fell just short. Mason (2), Sundali and Grill scored. Atkinson and
Pike each had an assist. Goalie Cody Levitan had 22 saves and Sun Valley had 23
shots on goal.
Others making the trip and
contributing were Crockett Stearns, Anthony Martin, Zax Sjoberg and Nick Crosby.
Sun Valley's next tournament will be held
in Sun Valley Jan. 10th and 11th.
