It’s time to ‘think snow’

Sun Valley ski passes go on sale Oct. 6

Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain is scheduled to open for skiing on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27. Early season is scheduled to last through Dec. 13, while the resort’s late season is set to last from March 29 to the final day of skiing—often in mid- to late April.

Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain has yet to accumulate more than a thin glaze of frost this season, but local residents are already being asked to think about skiing.

Sun Valley Co. has announced that it will commence sales of lift passes for the upcoming 2003-2004 ski season on Monday, Oct. 6, at its main ticket office in River Run Lodge.

Several of Sun Valley’s most popular lift passes will be sold in early October at pre-season discount rates.

Adult season passes will be sold this year for $1,825 each. However, if purchased before Oct. 19, the passes will be sold with a $100 discount, for $1,725 each.

The resort’s 20/20 ski pass—a package that permits 20 days of peak-season skiing and 20 days of combined early- and late-season skiing—will be sold for $825 each. 20/20 passes will also be sold with a $100 discount through Oct. 19, reducing the cost to $725 each.

The Alpine-Nordic season pass—which allows full access to Sun Valley’s alpine ski mountains and Nordic ski facilities—will sell this year for $1,975. It will also be discounted $100 prior to Oct. 19.

Other passes available for purchase include:

·  Student season pass: $350

·  Dollar adult season pass: $150

·  Dollar child season pass: $75

·  Season discount card: $150 (not available after Dec. 19)

·  Weekend discount card: $55 (first), $25 (second in family), $15 (third in family)

This winter, full-day, adult lift tickets during peak season will cost $66, $1 more than last year.

Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain is scheduled to open for skiing on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27. Early season is scheduled to last through Dec. 13, while the resort’s late season is set to last from March 29 to the final day of skiing—often in mid- to late April.
