Cropper completes
the trifecta
Wins Valley Club seniors
It’s been a very good series of golf
tournaments since August for Hailey’s Dave Cropper, who is hitting the ball as
well as ever at the young age of 63.
Zero-handicapper Cropper completed a
unique trifecta of victories Monday by winning The Valley Club Senior’s Men’s
overall championship with scores of 75-75 for 150.
Cropper also won The Valley Club match
play men’s golf championship Sept. 8 and captured the Idaho Golf Association’s
Senior Men’s amateur title Aug. 10 at Falcon Crest in Kuna.
"I’ve always been a pretty good putter and
had a good short game, but I’ve worked out a couple of things in my swing," said
Cropper, giving much credit to his golf instructors. "I’m just hitting the ball
better."
Fortunately for some of his golf partners
who have tired of his able shot-making, Cropper won’t be at The Valley Club when
it holds its President’s Cup 36-hole stroke play tourney Sept. 27-28. Cropper
will be representing the club at the IGA Tournament of Champions in Sun Valley.
