Sawtooth Relay returns Saturday
Stanley to Ketchum
Summer officially begins
Saturday with the running—and walking—of the 12th annual Sawtooth Relay
62-mile trek from Stanley to Ketchum.
Six-member teams will
complete 12 running and walking legs starting in the wee hours at Stanley
Elementary School and ending Saturday afternoon at Atkinson Park in Ketchum.
Nine local teams are entered
including these teams (with their captain names):
"Joe Kugots Flying Fish
#34," with captain Karen Morrison; "Runtime Errors," with captain
Ron Buell; and "Running on Empty," with captain Katie Rauch;
Also, "Wood River
Rockets," with captain Nancy Higgins; "Foxy Flyers Too," with
captain Nicole Brown; and "Will Run for Beer," with captain Daryl
Fauth.
Last year about 430 people on
71 six-member teams played leap frog along S.H. 75 from Stanley to Ketchum. The
"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," team from Ketchum won the women’s
division in 7.25:54.
