A Blaine County man was killed last week
when the 1994 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving rolled on a rural Pahsimeroi
Valley road, ejecting him.
Francis "Frank" R. Tunney, Jr., of Newport
Beach, Calif. and Ketchum died Wednesday, May 14. He was 56.
According to a press release from the
Idaho State Police, Tunney was driving east on a dirt road when he lost control
of the vehicle, over-corrected and rolled. He was not wearing a seat belt and
was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to his obituary, Tunney’s
greatest love was his family, including his two sons, Noah and Michael. He was
planning on spending most of his retirement with his wife, Doris, on his ranch
at Double Springs in the remote Pahsimeroi Valley, northeast of Challis.
Tunney had a long and distinguished legal
career, eventually becoming general counsel, corporate vice president, secretary
to the board and chief financial officer of Allergan, Inc. of Irvine, Calif.
In addition to his wife and sons, he is
survived by his mother, Agatha Danowski Tunney; his two sisters Daneen Snyder
and Helene Tunney; and one brother, Stanley Tunney.
