Powering a winner

District tennis comes to Sun Valley

It was cold, but at least the reluctant sun was shining Monday when the powerful Wood River High School and Community School tennis teams clashed at Ketchum’s Warm Springs Tennis Club. Powering a winner during her No. 1 girls’ doubles straight-set victory is Wood River senior Ashley Lakey. She’s the reigning State 3A girls’ doubles champion teamed this year with senior Kiette Tucker. Lakey and Tucker will be favored to advance to state when the District 3A tournament is held Friday and Saturday at Sun Valley Tennis Club. Express photo by Willy Cook
