America’s symbol, the Bald Eagle, is also an excellent angler. While human anglers lined banks of the Salmon River fishing Sunday for adult steelhead returning from the Pacific Ocean, this white-headed “fish hawk” caught with ease young steelhead smolts heading for the sea in the beginning of the anandromous life cycle of Idaho’s unique breed of rainbow trout.
