SVSEF coach Tyler Palmer remarked, "The biggest difference for Zac is he has matured a lot. He has taken the ups and downs of the year and worked really hard."

SVSEF program director Don Wiseman added, "When you look at the field, it is amazing."

Local racer Robin Sarchett was ninth. Wes Powell was 25th, Dewey Moss 42nd and Jason Eder 49th.

The following day, Brown skied to eighth place in giant slalom. Carl Rixon Jr. was ninth. Sean Higgins was 24th, Jason Eder 51st, Dewey Moss 55th, Luke Speer was 70th and Ash Higgins 73rd.
