Targhee races a plus
for Hailey kids

Medals galore in Northern Series

Hailey Ski Team racers had a terrific weekend when the Northern Series Championships were held Saturday (giant slalom) and Sunday (slalom) at Grand Targhee Ski Resort.

Coach Matt Brown said 10 Hailey skiers medaled out of the 13 kids who made the trip. In all, young Hailey racers collected seven first places in their classes, seven second places and three third places.

Meghan Luck led the way, winning Saturday’s GS by nearly two seconds and taking the J4 girls’ class each day. Ryon Campbell was the leading J3 boy, in second place overall in Saturday’s boys’ GS.

Most of the 81 racers from Idaho and Wyoming were in the 11-12 age classes. Here are local class placings by race:

J2 boys: Ross Campbell 1-GS, 2-SL.

J3 boys: Ryon Campbell 1-GS, 1-SL; Conor Davis 2-GS, 2-SL;

J4 boys: Eric Fitzpatrick 6-GS.

J4 girls: Meghan Luck 1-GS, 1-SL; Hanna Curran 2-GS, 7-SL; Ali Maricich 5-GS, 8-SL; Bailey Ireland 7-GS, 1-SL; Jasmine Campbell 5-SL.

J5 boys: Miles Sweek 2-GS, 2-SL; Tyler Davis 3-GS, 4-SL.

J5 girls: Nina Hirner 1-GS, 2-SL; Delaney Willey 2-GS; Gracie Brown 3-GS, 1-SL; Hannah Rudolph 3-SL.
