Storey writes one, winning Moran SGs

Hailey, Super Gs lure 71 to Jackson Hole


Sun Valley Ski Team racer Slater Storey collected three super giant slalom victories last weekend during the USSA Jackson Hole Super Gs staged on Moran run at Teton Village.

Storey edged Jackson Hole’s Cooper Quinn by .42 seconds in Friday’s 30-gate opener then tied Quinn for first Saturday morning. Later Saturday Storey nailed down a third triumph by just .06 seconds over Zachary Schwartz of Jackson Hole.

Ash Higgins of Sun Valley wasn’t far behind. He placed third overall twice and earned three J2 podiums.

There were 186 racers from the J1 through J4 classes competing in the three-day Northern Series event. Sun Valley and Hailey ski teamers comprised 71 spots in the total field.

Leading the local J1-J3 women was Sun Valley’s Cassidy Doucette, who placed 4-3-2 overall and won J2 women twice. Danielle Maniere also podiumed among the J2 women.

Hailey’s Barrett Cincotta was the overwhelming winner in the three J4 men’s races—finishing first by 3.36, 2.57 and 4.12 seconds. Travis Stone of Sun Valley took a silver. In J4 women, Hailey’s Meghan Luck had three podium finishes, placing second just .19 seconds back Friday.
