For more
than a year, Ketchum officials have been fielding complaints about the
city’s Web site, but that could be about to change.
The city
announced last week the launching of a new city Internet site, www.ketchumidaho.org.
Cyberspace
surfers will be able to log onto the site and view upcoming meeting
schedules, agendas and minutes, in addition to the entire city code and
comprehensive plan. Election information, public notices and city job
postings will also be available.
"On
behalf of the city government and all of our staff, we look forward to
serving our residents and visitors with information which we hope they
will find interesting and useful," Mayor Ed Simon said.
"Through the city’s new site, our citizens will have convenient,
direct access to the latest city information."
For more
than a year, Ketchum resident Jake Jacoby has been spurring the city
toward fixing its Internet offerings, which have often been woefully
out-of-date.
After a
cursory look at the new site last week, Jacoby said, "it looked
pretty good," high praise from a generally harsh critic.
