Get ready for district soccer tournament

Cutthroats #1 seed


It is going to be five days of fast and furious footy in the boys’ Fourth District soccer tournament.

Eight teams are vying for 2.5 berths from our district for the State 3A Tournament in Pocatello, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

The high-seed hosts each round in the double-elimination district tournament.

In the first round on Friday, Oct. 18, #1 Community School is home to #8 Declo, #3 Magic Valley Christian plays #6 Buhl, #2 Wood River goes up against #7 Filer, and #4 Bliss plays #5 Wendell. All games start at 4 p.m.

Second-round games are Saturday, Oct. 19 with the losers from the first day playing at 11 a.m. and the winners at 2 p.m.

Two games will be played on Monday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m., including the district championship (game #11).

Still, another round on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. features the loser of game #11 versus the winner of game #12, The winner of that match earns an automatic state berth, the loser (or third-place finisher) will take on the third-place team from the Sixth District in Mountain Home on Saturday, Oct. 26 for the final state berth.
