Wagon Days is
pulled-off by Big Hitch

The Big
Hitch Wagon, the highlight of Ketchum’s annual Wagon Days Big Hitch
Parade, was awarded the Best of Show prize by the parade judges.
Snaking
through a corridor of fans Saturday along Sun Valley Road and Main
Street, the parade featured 100 entrants, including restored wagons, new
wagons, coaches, carriages, buggies, carts, floats, school bands and
riding clubs, and not a motor among them.
In 1st
place in the Original/Restored Wagons division was the Lee Family
Belgians from Twin Falls, 2nd place was Vern Miller from
Jerome, and 3rd was Phil and Marilyn Jung of Utah.
In
Wagons New: 1st was Diamond Z Ranch Shore Hitch from
Utah, 2nd Jack & Jackie Montgomery Family from Jerome,
and a tie for 3rd was shared by Dugan Traders from Wyoming
and Reitsma’s Freisens from Kimberly.
Coaches:
1st was Concord Stage Hook & Draw Collection from
Ketchum, 2nd the Old Frontier Gang from Hailey, and 3rd
the Mud Wagon/Hook & Draw Collection from Ketchum.
Carriages:
1st was Thomas Beck, MD from Boise, 2nd was
Celebrations Carriage Co. Carol Young from Kellogg and 3rd
was City of Sun Valley from Sun Valley.
Buggies:
1st was Piano Box Buggy from Bellevue, 2nd Was Mil
Wagy Farms from Filer and 3 was Mel Worthington from Twin Falls.
Carts:
1st was Carolyn Phillips from New Plymouth and 2nd
was Heidi Flood from Sun Valley,
Floats:
1st was Idaho Old Time Fiddlers from Bellevue, 2nd
was Celebrate SON Valley 2002 from Bellevue, and 3rd was
Ketchum/Sun Valley Heritage & Ski Museum from Ketchum.
Open:
1st went to Jose Luis Heredia from Nampa, 2nd to
Maggie Ekstrand of Shoeshone, and 3rd to Stick on a String,
Pete and Linda Vandermulen from Bellevue.
Riding
Clubs: 1st Eh-Capa Bareback Riders from Caldwell, 2nd
Americana’s from Rexburg and 3rd High Country Peruvian
Pasos from Sun Valley.
The
Kimberli Rhoads People’s Choice Award went to Professional Bulls
Invitational from Hailey, and the Best in show was the Big Hitch from
Ketchum.
