Fashions
on Ice returned in fine form last week on a bright sunny evening at the
Sun Valley Lodge ice rink.
A large
crowd observed the choreographed show from the bleachers and the deck of
the Sun Valley Lodge. Fashions on Ice, once a valley institution, had
not been held for eight years.

Organized
by the non-profit Sun Valley Figure Skating Club to benefit its programs
that promote figure skating through lessons, competitions, tests for
levels advancement and assistance with competition costs for its
members. There are currently 88 active members of SVFSC, a United States
Figure Skating Association sanctioned program.
Adults
and children skaters modeled fashions from nine valley shops, including
Paula’s, Panache, Brass Ranch, Kitzbuehl Collection, the Skate Shop,
Undercover Agency, Girl Street and Board Bin.
Herman
Maricich, former director of the skating program, escorted models from
the Sheepskin Coat Factory on the ice. It was the first time he’s
performed in 10 years.
"It
was a tremendous success," said Constance McCamant, SVFSC executive
secretary.
The
fashion show is a vestige of when Maricich was the director of the
skating program.
Over a
hundred items were auctioned off in a silent auction following the show.
Members
of the SVFSC perform weekly in the children’s program in the Saturday
night ice shows.
