Dolphins go head-to-head in Hailey pool

Wood River, Sun Valley swim teams

Wood River Dolphins head coach Chris Jafay and Sun Valley Dolphins coach Ed Flory were very proud of their young swimmers Friday.

Meeting head-to-head for the first time of the Sagebrush League season, Wood River and Sun Valley competed with visiting Rupert in a five-and-a-half hour swim meet at Hailey’s Blaine County Aquatic Center.

Outstanding Sun Valley swimmers for the meet were Sage Howe, Niels McMahon, Alexa Turzian and Grady Goodenough, according to Flory.

Dominant Wood River swimmers were Leslie Riemann, Chris Chapman, Jeremy Lato, Natalie Hague and Logan Johnson, who swept all four events in their age classes.

Coach Jafay thanked all the volunteers for their help, and also tipped his hat to Sturtevants. Assistant Wood River coach Ashlea Bartlett said, "The amount of effort and dedication these kids put in is amazing!"
