Soap Box Derby winner heads for Akron

Grayson Thompson races Sharla Leach on Sunday in the Soap Box Derby in Elkhorn. Despite being only .1000 seconds behind the eventual winner, Leach’s mother yanked her from the race to rush down to Hailey for the Footlight Dance Theatre production of “A Season of Bach.” “I’d rather risk my daughter not speaking to me, than risk the wrath of Hilarie Neely,” Katheryn Leach said.
