Ski patrolmen in
Whistler Challenge
Four from Sun
Valley
A team of
four Sun Valley Ski Patrolmen—Steve Daigh, Mike Davis, Sean Donovan and
Bryant Dunn—left Sunday for Whistler, B.C., Canada.
There they
are competing in the fourth annual Cascade Toboggan North American Ski
Patrol Challenge March 26-27.
This is the
first time the Sun Valley Ski Patrol has sent a team to compete in an
event which features groups from all over Canada and the U.S.
Patrolmen
participate in timed events like toboggan races through a Skier-X course,
beacon searches, a ridge hike and technical ski relay and a speed
packaging event.
In speed
packaging, the teams must stabilize, package and transport a patient who
has injured a spinal cord.
Points are
awarded to the teams completing the events the fastest and with the best
technique.
Local
businesses supporting the Sun Valley foursome include Smith, Jytte Mau
Designs, Silver Creek Outfitters, Scott USA, Apple’s Bar & Grill,
Whiskey Jacques, Sun Valley Real Estate and The Valley Club;
Also, The
Casino, Johnny G’s Subshack, River Run Auto Parts, Atkinsons’, Grumpy’s,
