Parrish Memorial
hits the hill
Bumps, SG on Baldy
Everybody
has homefield advantage in a race like the Lane Parrish Memorial, so
winning comes down to all the little things—equipment, wax, form, and,
of course, luck.

Olin Glenne
and Joanne Zwingenberg had it all going their way to win the 10th annual
Lane Parrish Memorial on Bald Mountain Monday.
Racing in
the 19-39 men’s combined division, Glenne skied to second place in the
men’s super G Monday in 77:77 seconds. He also posted first place in the
Sunday’s bumps for a grand total of two points and the overall title.
Zwingenberg
repeated as the women’s champion by finishing runner-up to super G
champion Taryn Palmer and second to Debbie Page in moguls.
Also
claiming combined championships were Katie Zuck, Karl Fostvedt, John
Reagle, Marvin Melville and Kai Robrahn.
Matt Murphy
was the fastest man down the 36-gate Greyhawk course in 76:46. Glenne was
second overall and Biche Rudigoz finished third.
The women’s
top three were Taryn Palmer, Zwingenberg and Anna Droege.
Mogul
winners were Josh Zuck, Corey Warren and Justin Peterson on the men’s
side and Page, Zwingenberg and Marcia Page in the women’s division.
Funds
raised from the event are donated to the Hailey Ski Team and Sun Valley
Freestyle team. The event is named for Parrish, a famed local skier and
stuntman who died in 1990 at the age of 33.
Race
organizers would like to recognize Karl Fostvedt and Corey Warren for
their great effort selling raffle tickets.
