New snow for
Masters opener on Baldy
Sixty-seven
alpine ski racers enjoyed Baldy’s new snow last weekend as the U.S. Ski
Association Intermountain Masters racing season kicked off with the Smith
Cup giant slaloms.
Six members
of the 2002 U.S. Alpine Masters Ski Team brought luster to the start list
for the two-day event presented by the Sun Valley Ski Club.
They were
Ginny Reed, Anna Droege, Glenn McConkey, Stan Beach, Michael Falk and Bill
Skinner.
Andy
Baillargeon won the men’s "Super Seed," both days, while Glenn
McConkey and Nancy Auseklis shared the women’s wins on the 25-gate Warm
Springs courses. A total 18 women and 49 men raced.
