Celebrity cookbook
hits shelves

By ADAM TANOUS
Express Arts Editor

The Advocates, an organization committed to providing support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, will publish on Saturday its second edition of the "Sun Valley Celebrities & Local Heroes Cookbook." The book was compiled and edited by Jennifer Diehl.

This binder-style book contains 151 recipes submitted by resident celebrities and leaders. In it, one will find a granola recipe from Tom Brokaw, salad nicoise from Mariel Hemingway and venison chili from Buzz Aldrin. The list goes on.

Then there are recipes from the chefs of some of the valley’s finest restaurants. Chef C.K. of Evergreen Restaurant shares the secrets of his Carolina crab cakes in Idaho dish. Felix Gonzalez of Felix’s Restaurant offers up the recipe for calimari picante. Looking for something more substantial? Try the lamb and rice meatballs from Scott and Anne Mason of the Ketchum Grill.

Diehl has organized the book into food categories: appetizers and drinks; breads and breakfast; soups, salads and sandwiches; veggies, sides and sauces; meat, poultry and game; fish and seafood; pizza and pasta; and sweet treats.

Wood River Valley artist Will Caldwell has contributed his artwork for the cover and the section dividers.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit The Advocates.

The book can be found in local bookstores and gift shops. It can also be purchased directly from The Advocates by calling 788-4191 or by e-mailing them at asdv@sunvalley.net.

The Idaho Mountain Express is distributed free to residents and guests throughout the Sun Valley, Idaho resort area community. Subscribers to the Idaho Mountain Express will read these stories and others in this week's issue.
