Renewable Energy Fair set for Oct. 26 at Elkhorn Resort

Idahoans with any kind of interest in renewable energy and alternative fuels programs will want to take in a special Idaho Renewable Energy Fair set for Oct. 26 in Sun Valley, announced energy managers with the Idaho Energy Division.

The fair is free and open to the public. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Sun Valley’s Elkhorn Resort. Officials say the fair gives people a unique opportunity to see the latest in renewable energy, energy efficiency and alternative fuels technologies. Leading renewable energy experts will also be on hand to answer questions, according to John Crockett, renewable energy specialist.

Classes scheduled during the Fair will include solar energy, wind power technology, methane production from animal wastes, geothermal and energy efficiency. The fair will be held in the Sawtooth Ballroom and adjacent parking lot at the Elkhorn Resort.

"You will be able to learn how these systems work, how they are designed and installed, how much they cost and what types of programs are available for assistance and financing," Crockett said.

For more information, contact Linda Reed at the Blaine Soil Conservation District, 788-2254, or call the toll free Idaho Energy Hotline at (800) 334-7283.
