Balltrappers rally
The Bigwood
Body & Paint/Silver Dollar Balltrappers will participate in the A.S.A.
Northwest Regional Women’s Slowpitch Softball Championships, August
24-26 at Vancouver, Washington. To help defray expenses the team will hold
a benefit at the Silver Dollar Bar in Bellevue this Friday, August 17.
The band
Raising Cain will perform and one dollar from the $4 cover charge will go
to the local women’s team. Music starts at 9 p.m. and the fun promises
to last a long time.
Super Super Bowl
The
Atkinson Park Super Bowl was staged on Monday. 49’rs/Raiders defeated
the Bronco/Seahawks 56-49 on a scoring pass from Michael Gariepy to Ross
Campbell with three seconds on the clock.
Scoring
machine Spencer Harris was named Most Valuable Player.

Atkinson
Park rounds out a summer of fun with a two-day tennis tournament August
16-17. The doubles tournament will be held on Thursday and the singles
event is Friday. Play gets underway at 9 a.m. both days.
Warm Springs Open
Warm
Springs Tennis Club will hold its second annual Junior Open Tennis
Tournament, August 22-24. The event is for girls and boys 7-16. Divisions
are singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The entry fee is $10 and
registration forms must be received by August 20. There will be a pizza
and ice cream party at the conclusion of the tournament on Friday. For

Saturday in the Park
If you’re
looking for a cool party on Saturday look no further than Ketchum Rotary
Park and Skatefest 2001.
Skatefest
2001 is a benefit for the Ketchum Skate Park. The event features five
bands, including the Varsity Punks of Ketchum and the Mosquitones of
Boise. The barbecue will be going all day and refreshments will also be
available. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. Festivities run
from 3-9 p.m. Suggested donation is $5-$10. The Board Bin has details,

Big bucks

cowboy Kelly Wardell is going he can afford a horse of his own.
The
Bellevue bareback rider is currently leading the money standings on the
pro rodeo circuit with $92,035. Lan LaJeunesse of Morgan, Utah is second
with $63,368 in prize money. Wardell is slated to ride in the Caldwell
Night Rodeo on August 15. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Tribe on top
The Buhl
Indians captured the 2001 State A American Legion championship at Burley
Sunday. The Tribe topped Mountain Home 11-1 in five innings in the finale.
T.J. Cline was 4-for-4 with 3 RBI. Seth Matthew’s belted three hits,
including a pair of doubles. Buhl (37-4) will compete in the Northwest
Regional A.L. Tournament in Powell, Wyoming this weekend.
