Elkhorn resident
Douglas J. Brown had a blood alcohol level of .17 percent when he shot
himself in the head last month, a toxicology report released Friday by
the Sun Valley Police Department states.
The legal blood
alcohol limit for driving in Idaho is .08 percent.
The report also
states that Brown tested positive for THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the
active ingredient of marijuana.
Brown, 38, shot
himself May 12 while playing Russian roulette with a .357 revolver at
the Elkhorn Village residence of Gary Fisher, 28, according to a
statement Fisher made to the Sun Valley Police Department.
Shortly after the
incident, an autopsy was done on Brown’s body by a forensic
pathologist in Boise, accompanied by Blaine County Coroner Russ Mikel.
Mikel reported the autopsy indicated Brown’s head wound was consistent
with a self-inflicted shot, due to the angle and proximity of the gun.
